Open Cup win eases the pain

The Robins bounced back from Saturday’s shocker by getting past Wiltshire Premier side Ludgershall Sports in their much-postponed Andover Open Cup tie at the Rec on Tuesday.
Thompson again had just 12 players at his disposal but Mike Barker’s diving header at the far post gave his side a half-time lead.
Dave Cotter made it 2-0 and after Ludgershall had reduced the arrears substitute Alan Ralph was introduced for Jake Freemantle and he finished a far post header to make it 3-1.
Sports pulled one back but Stockbridge held on for what was a morale boosting victory.
Thompson is without Jamie Coleman tomorrow, who is suspended but has signed Darren Collicutt, who is now based in London.
