Vixens crushed by netball top dogs

FM Eclipse 72 Vernham Vixens 26 FM were quickly into their slick playing rhythm, popping in the goals in metronomic fashion.

When Vernham Vixens did win the ball, they too showed drive and determination, usually finished with an excellent shot.

Quarter-time came with FM leading 22- and at half-time the goal difference had increased to 46-12.

Due to the bitter temperatures, FM decided to switch round their positions during the remainder of the match to ensure that everyone had a turn at keeping warm.

A variety of players displayed fabulous versatility, with some excellent performances across the court.

Both teams were actually borrowing two players, FM Eclipse borrowing from their sister team Eclipse Online and Vixens borrowing from Simply ACES, however, all blended well. Corrin Leonard and Kelly Smith for FM made some excellent defensive plays and interceptions, while Julia Carey helped steer Vixens midfield. Some accurate shooting from Kim Belbin kept Vixens’ score respectable.

FM easily claimed the win, but to their credit Vernham Vixens never gave up their fighting spirit.
