White and Adams take Invitation Darts Blind Pairs

Tuesday night saw some great pairs matched up for the Winter League Blind Pairs.
In the first round games, Graham Howard and Debbie Shadwell missed vital doubles to see off the eventual winners coming from 2-0 down to bring it back to 2-2 and missing doubles in the fifth and deciding leg to win.
Steve Shadwell and Gary Brant Snr saw off the talented Jack Morris (Academy) and Steve Burton then missed out in the second round to White and Adams. On board two, Ali Macdonald partnered Kev Parsons and they saw off Mark and Billy Powell to book a place in the quarter-finals. John Flood and the ever improving Logan Barnecut (Academy) won a close contest between Liam Hansan (ex Academy) and Hampshire’s Charlotte Burgess to book their place in the quarter-finals. On board three Karl Brooks and Carol Davis were up against it in their game with a very strong pairing of Pete Bailey and Paul Hansan winning 3-0. Gavin Howard, Generation 180 winner from this year’s Academy, partnered up with Graham Bassett beat Sam Chowes and Eddie Edmondson.
On board four Paul Britton and Steve Cox beat Dan Read (Academy) and Lenita March in their first round match and Paul Barnard and John Gaffney beat Simon Coxhead and Mark Read after a very close contest 3-2 respectively.
In the quarter-finals Jeff White and Martin Adams beat Shadwell and Brant Snr 3-2, Parsons and Macdonald won a very close match also 3-2 after being 2-0 down against Flood and Barnecut, Hansan and Bailey fell to Howard and Bassett and Britton and Cox beat Gaffney and Barnard 3-1.
The semi-finals were all close but it was Cox and Britton who fought off Howard and Bassett, and White and Adams against Parsons and Macdonald respectively, with White and Adams booking their place in the final against Cox and Britton.
