Saturday saw the seventh annual Andover Darts Academy presentation night and as usual, a packed Hayward Suite, Wolversdene Club enjoyed a celebration of what has again been a highly successful year writes Kerry Miller.

More than 120 parents, friends and young darters helped provide a wonderful atmosphere, immaculately hosted by co-ordinator Mark Thorne, who was tasked with not only guiding everyone through the dozens of awards but remembering the names of all the juniors who filed past to collect their trophies and certificates.

Honoured guests included Peter Johnson from Unicorn Darts, who had travelled from snowbound Norwich to be present and induct the latest young player into Generation 180 and Hampshire darting stalwarts Kev Ede and Sam Rooney along with their partners, who also presented some of the awards. Ivan and Jacqui Gentleman were there to present the prestigious Jamie G Special Award and all watched a superb montage of previous winners as a welcome starter to the main course which ended with an emotional Gavin Howard accepting his place in Generation 180.
