THE sixth Les Brant Classic Ranking Singles, sponsored by the Wolversdene Club and Mead Catering, takes place at the Hayward Suite tomorrow.
Evergreen Les, Andover’s outstanding octogenarian, is still going strong turning out regularly in the Tuesday and Friday night leagues, notching 171s and ton-plus finishes.
Les has been toeing the oche for over half a century, representing his county Hampshire and numerous iconic darting venues such as the Bell and Crown, the Phoenix, The Cricketers Tangley and the Clatford Arms.
An inspiration to players half his age, Les won the division legs won table in 2010-11.
Previous champions include Dennis Smith and Mark Cox plus a hat-trick of wins for Johnny Haines.
With £500 to the winner and payout to the last eight, a bumper turnout is guaranteed for the first event since the 2012 London Pride Classic.
Entry fees remain at £7 per entrant, registrations taken on the day up to 11.30am.
