THREE drivers from north Hampshire drivers will head to Scotland this weekend looking for more success.

The trio are Hook father and son Rob and Jordan Collard, along with Nick Halstead from Andwell.

All three will be hoping to do well at Knockhill, the venue for the for the latest round of the British Touring Car Championship.

Halstead is making his debut at the Scottish track in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge.

The Andwell driver said: “I had not driven Knockhill before, so I did full days testing three weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

“The circuit requires lots of guts given how many corners are completely blind, especially the chicane which you literally leap the car through and land sideways, huge amounts of fun.

He added: “I am hoping is to get in amongst the top 10 pro drivers, and that would give me decent chance of a first or second place in amateur class.

Rob Collard travels to Scotland in third place in the BTCC drivers’ championship, but only four points behind leader and home favourite Gordon Snedden.

Collard said: “I can’t wait to get to Knockhill to continue my push for the championship. It’s a very special track for me because it’s where I took my first BTCC win in 2005, my first double victory in 2012 and five wins in total, which makes it my strongest circuit. It’s a track where the BMW should be strong with lots of traction zones meaning we should be able to run a strong and consistent pace.”

Jordan Collard will be racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship hoping to build on his success earlier in the season.
