RICKY Collard enjoyed a double winning success at Oulton Park in the latest round of the British F3 Championship.

The Hook teenager won both the first and third races at the Cheshire track to increase his lead at the top of the drivers’ championship to 37 points from Thomas Randle.

This is a nice cushion when you consider there is a maximum 35 points available for each race.

Collard was on the pace from his first practice lap at Oulton Park and it was no surprise when the teenager claimed pole position for the first race of the weekend.

The north Hampshire driver thanks to an excellent start led from the lights to the chequered flag to claim his second win in the championship so far, which is great achievement in what is his rookie season.

Race two saw the reversed grid affair, so Collard had to start from eighth and passing was really difficult and so he had to settle for an eighth spot finish.

Having posted the fastest laps in both race one and two, this earned the teenager pole position for the final race of the weekend.

The young racer once again produced a text book drive leading taking a lights to flag victory.

Collard said of his weekend: “Everything seemed to click and the team have done a fantastic job again this weekend.

"I hope that we can continue this momentum towards the end of the season.

“Next up is Silverstone (June 11/12), and I’ve only driven the Grand Prix Circuit once and that was as part of the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award so hopefully I can draw upon that experience and I am very excited.”

This weekend, the Collard family will hope for more success at Oulton Park.

Father Rob and younger brother Jordan will be in action as the British Touring Car Championships arrives at the Cheshire track.

Rob Collard will be hoping to continue his great start to the season.

He is currently joint leader of the BTCC championship along with Matt Neal.

His youngest son Jordan will be driving in the Ginetta Junior Championship, which is one of the support races to the BTCC.

All the action from Sunday will be shown live on ITV4 from 11.15am until 5.40pm.
