FATHER and son Rob and Ricky Collard climbed back onto the podium at Silverstone as the British Touring Car Championship came to the Northamptonshire track.

Hook's Rob Collard erased the memory of his disaster at Rockingham with three top 10 finishes including a superb second place in his final outing.

Collard had been second on grid for the last race at Silverstone and flew off the line over taking pole siting James Cole into the first bend.

However, with his tyres still coming up to temperature, former team mate Colin Turkington took the opportunity to make a pass on the second lap and went on to win the race.

Earlier in the day, the Hook racer finished seventh in his first outing having qualified 12th and then starting from eighth and finished ninth in race two, before taking a podium in his final outing.

The results left him 10th in the drivers' championship.

His son Ricky Collard won his sixth race of his MSA Formula Championship season and will go into the final weekend of the season just 11 points behind championship leader Lando Norris.

Norris out qualified Collard at Silverstone and won the first race of the day as Collard finished fifth having started fifth.

The reverse grid race saw Collard come from fifth on the grid to win, while Norris could only came in eighth.

In an action packed final race, Collard suffered front wing damage and moved up to second after Norris tangled at the front as a safety car came out and dropped down the field.

With a couple of laps to go, Collard was forced into the pits to replace his nose cone and Norris in the end came in 10th.

This meant Collard missed out on his chance of taking back the lead of the drivers' championship, but instead is 11 points behind Norris, but it sets up a thrilling finale as title is very much up fro grabs with the scoring for the top five places of 25points, 18, 15, 12 and 10.
