FATHER and son Rob and Ricky Collard both enjoyed podium finishes on their home track of Thruxton at the weekend.

British Touring Car driver Rob Collard claimed an excellent second place in his second outing behind Jason Plato.

The Hook driver led on the opening lap in his BMW, before he was overtaken by Plato's VW coming up to chicane.

In the first race having qualified 10th, Collard moved up to sixth, before a fuel starvation problem with his car saw him have to settle for 13th.

In his final outing he started from seventh on the grid, but again finished well down the field in 14th, which left him eighth in the championship.

Ricky Collard ended the weekend as leader of the MSA Formula Championship, after a very solid weekend.

The teenager finished fourth in his first two races and then finished the day with a strong second place.
