TEENAGE kart racer Ethan Perry travelled to Silverstone to pick up his Formula Six Kart Championship trophy at the Kartmania Show.

The 13-year-old from Hatch Warren secured his title with a clean sweep of class wins and also finished second overall in the whole championship.

He won the title with two races to spare, but maintained his class winning feat as he collected two overall second places in the final two races at Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorset and Lydd in Kent.

The Veneno Racing team driver enjoyed a great season at the wheel of his kart, with fifth place overall in his first outing at Camberley Kart Club.

His quest for the title then moved to his favourite track at Bayford Meadows and he took his first overall podium with a third place, also recording the fastest lap.

More class wins followed at Whilton Hill and Buckmore, ahead of more success on his return to Camberley and Bayford.

He finished the clean sweep in his class thanks to two more excellent drives at Clay Pigeon and Lydd.

The Perins School pupil was introduced to the sport by a cousin and is now in his third year of driving.

His motor racing hero is new Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton and the teenager would love to follow in his footsteps.

The young racing star is looking for sponsorship to help him move up the ranks in the sport.
