BRITISH Touring Car driver Nick Foster is determined to have a much better meeting at Silverstone, than he did in his last outing at Rockingham.

The Odiham driver failed to start the last race after his chassis was snapped in race two.

Once again Foster was a passenger in the incident as Dave Newnsham lost control after his tyre blew.

Odiham's Foster said: “Rockingham was a disaster for me and it is the seventh time I have been involved in accidents which are not my fault this season “I want to go to Silverstone and make sure I finish all three races.”

Fellow north Hampshire driver Rob Collard from Hook and he is still hoping to make it into the top three of the overall championship.

He is currently in fifth after a good haul of points at Rockingham, followed on from his first win of the season at Knockhill.

Collard said: “With just Silverstone and Brands left I really think I have a shot of a top three place and I know it will be tough, but the car has been going really well this year.”

Collard's son Ricky, who races in one of the support races to the BTTC Championship, is hoping to keep up the pressure on the leader of the scholarship class as he is currently in second spot.

Basingstoke Skip Hire-backed Junior Ginetta driver Jack Rawles cannot wait to race at Silverstone.

Rawles said: “I am very much looking forward to Silverstone and racing on the famous circuit but it's always so close there in previous years so this year which is no doubt the closest most competitive year in Ginetta Junior championship. Silverstone will be super close.”
