NORTH Hampshire British Touring Car drivers Rob Collard and Nick Foster are full of confidence ahead of this weekend’s meeting at Rockingham.

Hook’s Collard enjoyed his first win since 2012 in his last outing at Knockhill, while Odiham’s Foster recorded his best finish of the season at the Scottish track.

Last year at Rockingham, Collard came seventh in race one and then failed to finish in his next two races, but he is looking forward to getting back out on the track and said: “The car is going really well this season, so I think it will be another good weekend for us.”

Foster, who so nearly made the podium at Knockhill, is even more hungry to do well at the Northamptonshire track.

The Odiham driver said: “I was so close to the podium last time, so I really want a top-three finish this time.”

Collard’s son Ricky Collard will be hoping to build on an excellent time at Knockhill in the Formula Ford Championship, one of the support races to the BTCC.

Basingstoke Skip Hire–backed Ginetta Junior racer Jack Rawles is looking foward to the meeting and said: “I usually go well around the fast Northamptonshire circuit, but I am praying for it to stay dry around there as it becomes very slippy.”

All the races will be shown live on ITV4 this Sunday from 10.45am until 5.45pm.

Piers Thynne from Hartley Wintney was second in the road-going specialist production class in his turbocharged 1.3t Westfield Megabusa at the latest Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb.

The final event of 2014 will take place at Gurston Down, near Salisbury, this Sunday.
