KART racing brothers Louis and Harry Foster finished first and second in the cadet final of the prestigious Roy Mortara Memorial Meeting held at Camberley Kart Club.

Ten-year-old Louis, the youngest racer in the field of drivers up to the age of 13, won the event, with 11-year-old Harry coming in second.

Both boys started their karting careers at the age of six. They compete in cadet karting and are aiming to win the Camberley Kart Club and Forrest Edge Kart Club Championships.

Louis is leading the championship and also recently came second in the Southern Championships. Harry leads the championship at Forrest Edge.

The long term aim for the pair is to compete in the British Touring Car Championship, following in the footsteps of their father Nick, who currently drives for the e-bay Motors team.

Nick Foster said: “I have enjoyed watching my boys develop their racing skills and I am lucky to share an interest in this sport with them, which means that we spend some great moments working together at the weekend.

“Motor racing is a sport with lots of highs and lows – don’t I know it – so hopefully I can help them when the chips are down.”

He added: “For me, the most important thing is that they are enjoying it and having fun.

“I am very proud of their results to date and they now have more trophies than me!”

Elsewhere, Basingstoke 11-year-old Charlie Mann finished fourth in the Roy Mortara Memorial cadet class.

Darren Smith of Mann’s sponsors Basingstoke Bolt and Tool said: “We are pleased for Charlie. He qualified fourth for the final and moved up to second on the first couple of corners. The race was so close, it could have been won by any of the top six.”
