HOOK’s Rob Collard will be heading to Rockingham this weekend for the latest round of the British Touring Car Championship, hoping to build on his first podium finish at Knockhill in his last outing.

Last year at Rockingham, Collard managed a fifth in the first race, but believes it is going to tough ask this time around.

The success of e-bay Motors teammate Colin Turkington has seen the boost turned down on their BMW on a circuit which is more of speed track, than the twists and turns of Knockhill.

Collard said: “We will go there looking to do as well as we can, but I think it is going to be tough with the boost turned down. We will just have to wait and see.”

Odiham’s Nick Foster will also make the trip to the Northamptonshire circuit and an early incident at Knockhill saw him not really get racing until his final outing on the Scottish track.

Foster said: “I like Rockingham as a circuit so I will be looking to do well there. Being back at base boost is not ideal, but I will be looking for some more top 10 finishes.”

The action from Rockingham will be shown live on ITV4 from 11am until 6pm.
