BASINGSTOKE Bison netminder Curtis Cruickshank turned his hand to being a forward for this game on Sunday night and scored twice, as the Herd lost what was a nothing end of season affair 11-7 in Edinburgh.

Both teams played their back-up netminders in this high scoring game and the Caps took a 3-2 lead at the first break thanks to Martin Cingel, Doug Christiansen and Mike Stutzel, as Danny Stewart and Greg Owen replied.

The second session saw the scoreline move to 7-4 as Edinburgh's Ryan Crane, Christiansen, Colin Hemingway and Ben O'Connor all netted, while Bison's Eric Braff and Derek Campbell were on target.

In the final period, the goals kept coming as Patrik Luza, Hemingway, Cingel and Iain Bowie all scored for the Caps, while Cruickshank netted twice for the Herd and Greg Owen grabbed the visitors other goal.
