A BRAVE Basingstoke Bison just came up short as they lost 7-5 at the Swindon Wildcats on Saturday night.
The Herd came into the game minus five players Viktor Kubenko, Liam Chong, Tony Redmond, Sam Oakford and Dan Harris were all forced out due to injure.
Despite this the Bison led 2-1 at the first break as Steve Moria and Ollie Bronnimann scored either side of an Aaron Nell strike.
The second period saw Swindon take a 4-2 lead after goals from Shane Moore, Nell and Jonas Hoog, but the Herd hit back to tie things as Kurt Reynolds and Moria netted.
The final period saw the Wildcats score three more unanswered goals from Hoog, Nell and Michal Pinc, before Daniel Volrab netted the Bison’s fifth.
