THE BASINGSTOKE Bison suffered more woe on home ice as they lost 5-2 to the visiting Peterborough Phantoms on Boxing Day.
New Herd netminder Stephen Wall facing his former team was beaten just once in the first period from Maris Ziedins, as the home side had Chris Wiggins dismissed.
The visitors extended their lead in the second period from Robbie Brown, but 24 seconds later a blue line blast from Marcel Petran hauled the Bison back into the game.
However, further goals from Phantoms James Ferrara and former Bison star Ondrej Lauko made it 4-1 by the second buzzer.
The home side’s cause was not helped as Jacob Heron became their second player to be dismissed.
Early in the final period the Bison dominated and pulled a goal back from Daniel Volrab, but any hopes of a comeback were dashed as Luke Ferrara netted Peterborough’s fifth goal.
