THE BASINGSTOKE Bison suffered their third home defeat on the trot as they lost to a short staffed Sheffield Steeldogs 5-4.
The herd raced into a 2-0 lead in the second session thanks to goals from Steve Moria and Viktor Kubenko.
However, by the second break Sheffield led 3-2 as Stuart Brittle scored twice and Ashley Calvert got the other.
The visitors extended their advantage to 5-2 as Edgar Bebris and Andre Payette netted.
A late rally saw Bison duo Marcel Petran and Joe Miller both score but that was as close as the home side got.
