THE BASINGSTOKE Bison went down 4-2 at the Milton Keynes Lightning on Wednesday night.
The home side took just 37 seconds to open the scoring from man-of-the-match Leigh Jamieson and still led at the first buzzer.
The Herd equalised from Nicky Chinn, only for Adam Brittle to restore MK’s lead.
Joe Miller on the powerplay made it 2-2, but in the final minute of the second period Nick Poole edged the Lightning in front again.
As the game clock ran down the visitors pulled their netminder, but the move back fired as Juraj Gracik found the empty net with 18 seconds left.
