BASINGSTOKE Bison power forward Chris Wiggins is to return for another season – a signing that will delight the fans.
The all-action giant British player, who stands at 6ft 5ins, certainly made a big impression in his first campaign in a Herd jersey last year.
As well as his hard-hitting no-nonsense approach to the game, he is also not afraid to drop the gloves to stick up for his team-mates.
And he can also be relied on to put the puck in the net, as he proved last season by scoring 10 times.
Bison player/coach Steve Moria is delighted to have Wiggins (right) back on board.
He told The Gazette: “Wiggy was an unknown commodity when he arrived last season. I think he really developed as a player and I think there is still more to come.
“He has really learned how to use his size and weight, and he certainly makes space for his line-mates when he’s out on the ice, as well as making opposition defenceman nervous.”
See Thursday's Gazette for Chris Wiggins’ views on his re-signing, and also Bison new boy Ricky Skene’s thoughts on joining the Herd.
