LEAGUE leaders Milton Keynes Lightning will be the stiffest test yet to the Basingstoke Bison’s home winning streak on Wednesday night.
The Herd made it 11 straight home league victories on Saturday night, currently the best in the English Premier League.
Their latest success saw them see off a spirited |display from the Romford Raiders, winning 3-2 in overtime.
Captain Nicky Chinn scored the first two goals before Steve Moria grabbed the game winner three minutes into the extra session.
The home side had dominated the game, out shooting the visitors 73-22 and the shot count will be a lot closer in Wednesday’s showdown. Visiting EPL top dogs MK have beaten Basingstoke on their three previous league meetings, but last time around it was by the slenderest of margins, Lightning coming out 5-4 winners.
But Bison boss Moria feels his side can turn the tables on their rivals this time.
He said: “Milton Keynes are the top team in this league, that’s for sure, and it is going to be a tough game.
“We are currently in good shape and have a great home record, which we will be looking to keep.”
The game on Wednesday, which has a 7.30pm face-off, is a season ticket match, being the game postponed due to bad weather back in January.
