THE BASINGSTOKE Bison made it five straight wins as they won for the first time this season in Altrincham on Sunday night beating the Manchester Phoenix 4-2.
The Herd won the opening period by two goals as first Steve Moria on the powerplay and Ondrej Lauko shorthanded netted.
The middle session saw Manchester’s Ed Courtenay score twice to tie the game at 2-2.
When former Bison Greg Wood was sent to the sin bin, the visitors made the most it as Moria scored with man advantage to make it 3-2.
The only goal of the last 20 minutes went to Shaun Thompson at 44:55 which wrapped up the win.
Basingstoke's netminder Tom Annetts picked up the team's man-of-the-match award.
