VICTORY over title-chasing Slough Jets last Sunday night will have put the Basingstoke Bison in the right mood as they face the two sides directly below them in the English Premier League standings this weekend.
First up is a trip to Cambridgeshire to take on the Peterborough Phantoms for a game which has a 7pm face-off.
Back in early December the Cambridgeshire outfit beat the Bison 6-3 on home ice and it has always proved a tough place in Basingstoke’s history to get a result.
The Herd are keen to get their road form going after defeats in MK and Slough and Bison player/coach Steve Moria said: “They have a good team and I think it has surprised everyone that they are currently sixth. At the moment we need to get our form on the road going and that is what we will be looking to do in this game.”
One player likely to be out of the line-up is Canadian Joe Ciccarello. He was this week having a scan on a knee injury picked up in the first game of last weekend.
On Sunday night once again at the earlier face-off time of 5.30pm, the Bison return to home ice looking to complete a home sweep of victories over the Sheffield Scimitars.
The Bison currently look unbeatable in the Basingstoke Arena and the hard-working Yorkshire outfit will certainly have their work cut out on Sunday.
