OVERTON triathlete Aaron Harris ended up 17th in the World Triathlon Series Rankings after finishing 31st at the grand final in Canada.

The 26-year-old completed the 1,500m swim, 40km cycle and 10km run in 1hr 51min 34 sec, but was almost three minutes behind the winner after emerging from the swim well behind the leaders.

Harris’ performance in Edmonton followed a 29th-place finish in a sprint event in Stockholm, Sweden, the previous week.

Also in Canada for the World Triathlon Grand Final was Lychpit’s Gareth Sylvester-Bradley, who finished 16th in the sprint event for athletes aged 35-39, clocking 1:09.46 for the 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.
