BRADLEY Sutton defended his title in the Biathle World Tour event at Erding, near Munich.

The Hatch Warren teenager was leading by the first turn of the 1,000 metre run around the lake.

The 16-year-old Brighton Hill Community School pupil then pulled out an even bigger advantage during the swim.

He improved his lead even further in the final 1,000 metre run as he came home in a new personal best time of 8min 55.10sec.

His younger sister Jessica (14), also a Brighton Hill Community School pupil, finished in sixth place after a steady performance and was the fourth British girl home overall.

Bradley and Jessica will miss the home leg of the Biathle World Tour in early September as both are competing in the full South East Pentathlon event in Kent.

They are now waiting to find out if the European Biathle Championships this weekend will be counted as a World Tour event, so that Bradley can keep his World Tour crown.

The European Championships is being held at Albarquel Park in Setubal, Portugal, and Bradley is chasing a place on the podium.
