HATCH Warren Phoenix sponsors Abacus Employment have been joined by APA Massage, who have kindly purchased a match day message board for the club.

Richard Whitburn of APA Massage said: “The attitude towards the children is honourable and when Daren (Bavister) and the Phoenix approached me and explained what they were trying to do, I just couldn’t say no.

“The new message banner sets out the team ethics towards football and being part of the Hatch Warren Phoenix. At this young age, it is so important that children and parents, both home and away, set a wonderful example of how sport should be played, and embrace healthy values.”

The Phoenix travelled to Camberley, where coach Greg Brockbank took charge of the Hatch Warren Blaze, whilst Daren Bavister guided the Flames.

Bavister said: “The object of this journey was to offer next season’s under-sevens an opportunity of match-day experience.

“Greg and I were impressed with the way the teams gelled and played throughout the eight games.”

The club welcomed new players Harry Cottrell and George Sharp for their run out at Camberley.

The club are also excited at the prospect of playing next season in the North East Hampshire Youth League and the under-13 Elite team has been hard at work in various summer tournaments under the watchful eye of Mark Burton-Pye and Paul Pickering.

At the Reading FC tournament, they lost 1-0 in the semi-finals, with goalkeeper Rueban Snook being their player of the tournament.

Manager Paul Pickering said: “Mark and I could not be happier. In such a short time, the boys have gelled into a formidable team.

“We are pleased that the Hatch Warren Phoenix allowed us to join them and are very excited about the future.”
