THE heavens opened up with a vengeance at the weekend and washed away most of the planned local football fixtures last Sunday.
SR FC found a gap in the clouds away at Foresters AFC in the second round of the Hampshire Junior A Cup.
SR conceded a goal to the hosts but won 3-1 thanks to a pair by the reliable Brett Denham and a single from James Miller. This was SR’s fourth straight win in a row and their third cup success so far this season.
RAF Odiham Families did not allow the drizzle to dampen their parade as they stormed to an eighth straight league win, beating Pure Everest 3-1 to stretch their lead at the top of Division Three to 10 points.
All the other cup and league games were unfortunately postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
