RAY Cullen took the competition by the scruff of the neck playing superbly to accumulate 23 points to take top spot in Hartley Wintney Golf Club’s May’s Mid-Week 9 Hole Stableford attracted a good entry with 32 players taking part.

In second place with 20 points was Alan Oliver, following closely behind with 19 points, and taking third place after countback, was David J Taylor.

Clive Pugh put together an excellent round of 23 points to win the R & A Bridgestone 9 Hole Championship. Pugh score may give him every chance of going further in this national nine hole qualifying competition.

A further three points behind in second place was Roly Newman scoring 20 points. In third place after countback was Gareth Henderson, one of three players scoring 19 points. Taking fourth place was Shaun Lewis.

David Lince won the Pro Shop Stableford from Kevin Pigney, this was after countback was required to separate the players who both shot 37 points.

The Mixed Better Ball Coronation Cup proved to be a real scoring fest with the winners Gary and Cheryl Scott scoring a fantastic 47 points to lift the trophy.

Battling it out for second place were Jamie and Anita Hobdell along with Terry and Denise Skipsey who both scored 45 points.

After countback it was the Hobdell finished second.
