AFTER the Test Valley Golf Club Captains' drive, the outgoing captains Mike Dorey, Jane True and Brian Nicholson presented their nominated charity for the year SERV Wessex with a cheque for just under £13,000.

The captains thanked all the members for their support and representatives from the Bloodbike charity were on hand to receive their new motorbike, which cost £8,500.

They were staggered to hear that the club had raised enough money to fit it out fully, and pay much of the first year’s running costs.

The incoming captains Jon Hibberd (club), Jay Dawson (ladies), Colin Boag (seniors) and James Sankey (juniors) all hit brilliant drives watched by 100 members.

The results of the Captains' drive was won by Aaron Harrison, Adam Davies, Luke Whithorn and Jordan Harrison on 57.9. Second was Ryan Harrison, Steve Sankey, Dave Stevenson and Steve Purnell on 59.5, with third place going to Matt Lush, Bob Oliver, Carl Wray and Kieran Vineer with 59.8.

The Chris Callingham Trophy was won by Jon Hibberd, Bob Sturt, Nigel Dyer and John Cogan, with Eddie Siemak, Robert Bywaters, Lincoln Mackrill and Dave Tulloch second. Third went to Finn Dodd, Steve King, Chris Forrister and Graham Devereux.
