JUSTIN Rose finished joint sixth at The Open after he shot a final round of 70 to finish on -11 with an aggregate score 277.
It was his best-ever finish as a professional and also saw him tied as the top British player along with Danny Willett.
The north Hampshire golfer's final round saw him collect birdies on holes five, 12 and 18, while he dropped a shot at the 13.
Rose finished four shots behind a trio of players Marc Leishman, Zach Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen at the top of the leaderboard.
The title with decided after a play-off, which saw Johnson take the title after four extra holes.
