JUSTIN Rose and Tiger Woods had contrasting third rounds at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio yesterday.
Rose fired a six under 66 to move to the top of the leaderboard, while Woods shot his worst-ever professional round of 85, which included a quadruple bogey.
North Hampshire’s Rose collected seven birdies and one bogey in his impressive third round which moved him to 15-under-par.
This was after, Rose opened with a 68 after he knocked a birdie at holes four and seven, but also bogeyed five.
He then hit a purple patch with birdies at 11.12, 15 and 16, before a dropped shot at the 17th left him on four-under with a round of 68.
The followed day he improved on this despite a double bogey at the par-three 12th, this was thanks to birdies as 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 17 and 18 as he moved to nine-under-par.
Rose continued to enjoy himself in Ohio in his third round which left him three shots ahead of Francesco Molinari and David Lingmerth going in today’s final round.
