CRAIG Hinton claimed the honours as the Jamega Pro Golf Tour paid a visit to Dummer Golf Club.
The LJD Technology Services-sponsored golfer won the event by two shots with an eight-under-par total of 136 for his two rounds, beating James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City) and David Dixon (Kellands Plant Sales Ltd) into a share of second place.
A howling wind greeted the competitors as they arrived at the north Hampshire venue, but Ruebotham made light of the tricky conditions, laying down a marker by shooting a five-under-par round of 67.
He was soon joined at the top of the leaderboard by Jamie Abbott (Fynn Valley) and it was this pair that led the way overnight, two shots clear of a four-strong chasing pack.
Conditions were just as tricky on day two, with play having to be halted for 90 minutes due to a thunderstorm.
When play resumed, Dixon grasped the nettle, recording a second round of 66 (-6) to take the clubhouse lead after shooting level par on the opening day.
However, his second round score was matched by Hinton, who made birdies at three of the last four holes to reach -8.
Ruebotham was unable to respond and had to settle for a share of second place after shooting 71 (-1) on the final day.
Basingstoke golfer Will Fox ended the tournament in a tie for 12th place on -3, while home players Darren Lovegrove and David Holman finished 61st and 67th respectively.
