THERE was plenty of cause for celebration as Hartley Wintney Golf Club marked the end of the summer with their annual finals day.

A total of five finals were due to take place on the day, but due to Ian Fitzpatrick reaching two of the showpiece events, only four could be played.

Fitzpatrick teamed up with Nick Palmer to contest the final of the Artisans Cup against Dave Bartlett and Leigh Wells. The match was close for a long while, but Fitzpatrick and Palmer enjoyed a good run of holes to win 3&2.

A few days later, Fitzpatrick took on Neil Solomon in the final of the club medal. Fitzpatrick had to give his opponent six shots over the course of the round, but he did the job, winning by one hole to claim his second trophy of the year.

The final of the Stan Fox Trophy, a scratch knockout event, saw Ian Callaway take on 2013 club champion Phil Hudson, Calloway denying his opponent a double by winning 2&1.

Peter Goddard claimed the Churchill Cup, beating David Bartlett 3&2, while Tony Harbour and Lee Poulter beat father and son pair Keith and Jamie Mullin to win the White Cup, a foursomes event.
