‘THIS is fantastic’ was the way Kevin Hall summed up winning the Professional Coach award.

Hall who teaches Brazilian jiu jitsu and taekwondo has inspired his students at the Basingstoke School of Martial Arts to become European, British and English champions.

He also supports the national organisation Grapple Cancer by fundraising and he organised a club team to run in the Basingstoke Half Marathon.

He spends weekends supporting and encouraging students at the highest levels, and has created an environment for people of all age, sizes and abilities to become more confident on and off the mats.

Hall said: “I have been coming to this event for five years so it is fantastic to win it. Tonight we have the medal winners from club, but this is only the tip of the iceberg as we goes on at the club.

“Brazilian jiu jitsu boasts it is a martial art where the smaller person can beat a much bigger opponent due to having superior technique.”
