THE biggest smile of the whole evening was reserved for the last award of the evening, the prestigious Club of the Year received by Michelle Matson on behalf of Wessex Wyverns Modern Pentathlon Club.

The joy was clear to see as the club was announced as the winners and members made there way to the stage for a group shot.

Michelle with a massive grin on her face said: “I can’t believe it we are such a small club. We keep on achieving and we keep on growing.

“This award is for everyone and we have a fantastic volunteers which help us compete to the level we do.”

Wessex Wyverns enjoyed a great year despite the small amount of club members with international honours as well as the largest and most successful national representation they have ever had.

At the European Biathle and Triathle Championships the club won an individual gold and two fourth places at biathle as well as two individual silver, relay silver and individual bronze, at the triathle.

Two club members also qualified for the World Biathle Championships.
