ADVENTURE AS were at the prolific Court Farm Fishery last Sunday, where Steve Hunt made it two wins in a row on the venue with 89lb 12oz of carp caught on pole and maggot.

Mark Blackmon took second spot with 83lb 8oz of carp caught again on pole and maggot.

Mick Fordham’s 81lb 8oz came next followed by Bryan Swindles 66lb 8oz. Twenty anglers fished and all caught.

Kennet Osprey’s Christmas Match was held on Gold Valley’s Gold Lake and it turned into a grueller, after breaking the ice eighteen anglers struggled for bites.

Club Chairman and Father Christmas lookalike Maurice Parsons sorted it best feeding joker and fishing double red maggot on the hook, 15 perch for 3lb 5oz found their way to his net.

Phil Rogers caught roach and hybrids on pole and maggot for his 3lb 4oz, Tomasz Wojcik caught three skimmers and one perch for his 2lb 12oz whilst Ian Jones caught perch for 7oz.

With the majority of the field blanking on a cold damp day it was good to be back in the clubhouse for some Xmas cheer.

Camrose AC held their Xmas Match at New Barlows Lake and with the turnout reduced due to family commitments and the weather only nine anglers participated.

Jason Marcham took the honours with one carp caught on pole and maggot weighing 4lb 12oz, Chris Hopgood also caught a carp on pole and mag for 2lb 8oz, Tony Holdsworth caught six small roach for 14oz, Chris Barratt weighed in 7oz and that as they say was that, the rest of the field blanked.

Because the Christmas holidays encompass the next two weekends my next literary masterpiece will be in the New Year, so a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all anglers whatever your discipline and catch me in three weeks.
