SIXTEEN Basingstoke Railway Club members went to Frobury Farm Lake Two where John Hooley topped out with 30lb of carp on pole and maggot.

Staceys Supremo Keith Brown used the same tactics for his 28lb 8oz, Trevor Matthews’ 20lb 2oz was also a pole and mag affair as was Brian O’Donnels 15lb 8oz. One took an early bath.

Adventure AS went to Timsbury Manor and Steve Hunt showed his class by winning with 210lb of carp on pole and corn.

Martin Wickens 168lb of carp were caught on pole and paste, whilst Nick Sargent weighed in 153lb 8oz. All 10 caught.

Bites were at a premium for anglers on the Kennet Osprey match at Gold Valley Lake, Mick Biles won with four bites and four carp for 45lb 7oz.

Dave Sexton caught three carp on the bomb and weighed in 31lb 8oz, Mark (Red) Funnel weighed in 28lb 12oz. Ten fished some blanked.

The Camrose match at Soke Road Lake saw Paul Follington net a 17lb 13oz carp in his winning bag of 30lb 2oz on pole and corn, Tony Holdsworth came next on 29lb 12oz followed by Brian Orchard with 13lb 14oz. Twelve fished all caught.

Oxoid fished Witherington Farm’s outer lake and George Coomber won with 32lb 13oz of carp on pole and maggot, just edging out Peter Lovegrove who caught 32lb 10oz of mixed on pole and pellet.

Harry Roach was next with 30lb 13oz. Eight fished and caught.

Adventures match at Greenridge Farm saw Graham Spiller run out an easy winner with 139lb 10oz of carp on pole and meat.

Steve Hunt’s pole and maggot approach gave him 77lb 2oz followed by Kevin Holmes on 74lb 6oz and Nick Sargent with 68lb 12oz. Sixteen fished.

The Camrose match at Dandys Ford saw John Timney score with 128lb of carp on paste, Steve Lewis used pellet for his 103lb 4oz with Tony Holdsworth netting 83lb 4oz. Fourteen fished and caught.

Ospreys recent match at Willow Park gave Kim Coombs the win with 26lb 2oz of skimmers on the feeder, Simon Coombs caught 24lb 4oz for second spot followed by Graham Shadwell’s 22lb 9oz. Fifteen fished.

The Wednesday evening matches at Whitehouse Lake start on the 17 May.
