CAMROSE AC and Basingstoke Railway Club fished the first of a new annual fixture on the day after Boxing Day, and on a difficult Dandys Ford Fishery.

Camrose topped out by 111 points to 97, as Pip Seeney led the charge with 22lb of carp caught on pole and red maggot.

Bill Atkinson used half a slice of bread, 10 maggots and a dozen pellets for his 16lb 4ozs, Steve Telford put 14lb 8ozs on the scales followed by Keith Brown’s 11lb 2oz, a good day was had by all with the usual good natured banter. Twenty two fished and four did not catch.

Tadley Angling’s annual festive foray saw eighteen anglers fish on Whitehouse Lake and New Barlows Lake, Whitehouse saw Mick Fordham win with 20lb 10ozs of carp and bream using pole and bread.

Geoff Lewenden caught 15lb 6ozs of bream on pole and maggot whilst Dave Stratford-Way netted 13lb 5ozs. Tom Nix topped out on New Barlows with 21lb of pole and maggot caught carp, Gary Herman was next with 15lb 10ozs followed by Doug Whitford on 15lb 6ozs. The match was fished in the spirit of the season and £180 was raised for St Michaels Hospice.

Adventure AC went to Court Farm where Steve Hunt drew well and won well with 134lb 8ozs of carp on pole and maggot.

Gary Herman netted 68lb 4ozs of carp on waggler and pellet, Robin Guppy put 58lb 12ozs on the scales for third spot followed by Mike Allen’s 46lb 10ozs. All 20 caught.

Last Sunday's Camrose AC match at Whitehouse Lake saw Tony Holdsworth score with 21lb including a 16lb carp caught on pole and maggot. Seeney’s carp and bream bag caught on pole and maggot weighed 18lb 4ozs, whilst Paul Bassinder caught one carp for 6lb 13ozs. All 10 caught.

Basingstoke Railway Piscatorials went to New Barlows for their latest fixture and match secretary Dave Edwards won it with one carp for 8lb 4ozs on pole and pellet. Rob Carr (superstar) managed 1lb 1oz of bits for second place, whilst Keith Brown and Paul Dyer caught 1oz a piece. Mick Brown however caught something so small that it might not even have been a fish, however 1/2oz was allotted to the amoeba, the other six anglers blanked.
