KENNET Osprey’s match on the Basingstoke Canal at Ash Wharf, put match secretary Andre Grandjean in pole position, last Sunday.

Drawn in a favoured area 9lb 1oz of roach and perch found their way into the sack, all falling to a pole and caster approach.

Dave Green utilised chopped worm and caster on the pole for his mixed bag of 7lb 11oz.

Phil Rogers 6lb 13oz of roach was a pole and punched bread affair whilst John Light employed the same tactics for his 6lb 9oz of mixed. In total 19 fished and all caught.

Adventure AS fished at Frobury Farm Lakes one and two on Saturday last, and it was Darren Wright who sorted it with 102lb 8oz of carp on pole and bread.

Gary Hermans’ 72lb of carp was also a pole and bread affair, Rob Gallagher utilised pole and corn for his 46lb 12oz of carp, with pole and maggot doing it for Steve Davis on 42lb. All 16 who fished caught.

Basingstoke Railway Piscatorials Club were at Cheriton Farm last Sunday and Rob Carr (superstar) won the match with 49lb 8oz of carp on the pole and maggot. Paul Dyer caught 27lb 8oz of carp on the pole and maggot, Kevin Brown’s 26lb 8oz was a pole and mag affair as was Mick Brown (his dad) bag of 25lb 8oz. All 12 that fished caught.

Camrose AC were at Soke Road LAke last Sunday, where Bill Atkinson cruised to an easy win with 57lb of carp on pole and pellet.

This weight could have been a lot more, but for several lost carp, Darren (Dodgy) Brown put 31lb of carp in sack on pole and maggot. He was followed by Pete Morris who caught 11lb 8oz of mixed on pole and mag. Nine fished and all caught.

Basingstoke Railway Club have received a sponsorship deal from the Rudridge Company.

Fleeces, beanie hats and cool bags bearing the company logo have been distributed amongst anglers, plus a cash donation to boost pools payouts and help with match fees has been given, a nice and welcome gesture in this day of belt tightening.
