ADVENTURE AS put 18 anglers on the bank at Court Farm last Sunday and in a fairly tight contest Mick Fordham topped out with 62lb 2oz of carp on pole and pellet. Dave Stratford-Way used pole and meat for his 53lb of carp, Mick Biles put 52lb 8oz on scales followed by Gary Knight with 47lb 12oz. All caught.

Brian Orchard didn’t need the newly stocked Bream to win the Camrose AC match at Whitehouse Lake. He found 39lb of carp willing to take his maggot bait fished on the pole. However, John Timney’s 36lb was a pole and worm bream bag, Tony Holdsworth 21lb 10oz of bream was a pole and caster affair, whilst Darren Brown caught 20lb 8oz. All 12 caught.

Only seven anglers turned out for the Kennet Ospreys match at Willow Park match secretary Andre Grandjean won the event with 13lb of skimmers on the feed, Gerry Nickells was second with two carp for 12lb 8oz on the bomb and Steve Telford caught seven pound.

Basingstoke Railway Piscatorials found themselves at Old Barlows Lake, where I managed to win with one bream, one carp and bits for 12lb 10oz on chopped worm and caster at 11 metres.

Brian O’Donnell used the maggot feeder for his five carp, weighing 9lb 12oz. Staceys supremo Keith Barlow caught perch and carp for his even nine pound, whilst Les Partridge netted seven pounds. In total 12 fished and three blanked.

Has Keith Brown discovered a new revolutionary way to catch a fish? As the whistle went for the start of last Sunday's Railway Club match. He realised a fish had swallowed his plummet, landing the 2lb plus perch. He smiled broadly as he put it in his net. I can envisage the sale of plummets outstripping more conventional baits if this happens more often Catch me next week
