ADVENTURE’S fate in the National Super Cup Club Team Competition was sealed with a combination of a bad draw and a lack of feeding fish.

The only bright light on a dour day for the local side was Steve Hunt’s second section place.

The team did well to make the final and as with all these events you need a modicum of good fortune in the ultimate match. Adventure had none.

Kennet Ospreys were at Gold Valley Middle Lake last Sunday, where Simon (the God) Kiefer topped out with 73lb of carp on the bomb and pellet.

Ray Shepherd fished the same method for his 62lb carp, Andy Leith put the pellet waggler to good use for his even 50lb whilst Mark (Red) Funnel wagged it for his 40lb. 16 fished and caught.

Basingstoke Railway Club went to New Barlows Lake for their latest match and venue expert Keith Brown won with 30lb 2oz of carp and barbel on pole and maggot.

Colin Ariss stayed awake long enough to muster 23lb 6oz of carp on pole and pellet. Trevor Matthews came next on 16lb 4oz followed by Rob Carr with 16lb 6oz. In total 17 fished and four did not weigh.

Camrose AC fished at Cheriton Farm on Sunday last, where top two Terry Bowles scored with 90lb 7oz of carp and you’ve guessed it, top two and paste.

Darren Brown used paste and maggot on the pole for his 90lb 2oz, Paul Bassinder was third with 73lb, followed by Pip Senny on 69lb 2oz. In total 15 fished and all caught.

Adventure AS were at Cove Pit for their latest match and it was Colin Shepherd who did the business with with 200lb 12oz of carp on meat and corn under the pole.

Mick Fordham made second spot on 166lb 8oz using pole and meat, Robin Guppy pole and corned it for his 147lb 8oz, whilst Dave Stratford Way weighed in 119lb 4oz.

In total 14 fished and Kevin Roberts took an early bath.

My grandson Ryan got a train set for his birthday. Everyone has played with it except my grandson and me. Of course, her indoors just had to be the station master.

Catch me next week.
