Team Driverwolf Racing – made up of Marlborough’s Roger Lovelock and sidecar passenger Rick Lawrence from Kingsclere – enjoyed another race victory in the British F1 Sidecar Championships at Snetterton.

However, the weekend did not get off to the best of starts for the team as they spent Friday night changing the engine of the F1 sidecar.

It proved worthwhile as, after a qualifying cut short by a red flag to just six laps, the pair were on pole position by 0.7 of a second.

The Driverwolf Racing team got a good start from pole position but were overtaken by Ben Holland and Lee Watson, who held the lead in the race for five laps.

Lovelock and Lawrence managed to briefly take the lead, only to lose it, but the Driverwolf Racing pair were not to be denied victory as they took the chequered flag.

The following day, the race followed the same pattern as Lovelock and Lawrence were overtaken by Holland and Watson. But they quickly grabbed back the lead only to be passed by Jorge Steinhausen and Gregory Cluze.

The Driverwolf Racing team then had a coming together with Steinhausen and Cluze, taking them onto the grass before rejoining in fourth place.

Then, while trying to overtake Holland and Watson, they ended up on the grass again, taking them down to sixth.

After their third trip on the grass at the Norfolk track the pair had to settle for a seventh place finish.

Despite all this they are still top of the British Championship with a healthy 30-point lead.
