Ng is shootout top gun after a final thriller

THE ANNUAL Basingstoke and District Table Tennis shootout dished up a thriller of a final as Steve Ng beat Prashanth Devarajappa 21-20.

The event was organised by Bill Bavister, ably supported by Sue Thompson, Celia Hooker and Patrick Garlick.

The 24 players who took part were randomly split into four groups of six using their current handicaps with each playing one game up to 21 with the top two going through to the next round.

Everyone was entered into a free raffle won by the ever present Patrick Garlick with the prize being a ride on the Cresta Run and a free ice skating session at Bracknell Ice Rink.
