WAVERLEY Ladies leapfrogged Andover Sports Ladies into third place in the Ladies 4 League following a 6-0 win over winless bottom side Beechdown B.

Viking Ladies A were confirmed champions without playing after they were awarded a 6-0 walkover as their opponents Andover Ladies were unable to fulfil the fixture.

Andover signed off their Open Division One campaign with their fourth successive win, this time 5-4 over BH Pegasus A, who were only able to field two pairs. Braces from Nick Choi/Martin Davey and Ramsey Domloge/Warren Johnson earned four points to cement runners-up spot for Pegasus, giving Waverley A the title.

Challengers completed their Open Division Two season unbeaten following a 6-3 win over BH Pegasus B. Braces from Jayasankar Veettil/ Chanthos Selvaraj and Manoj George/Navraj Rai saw challengers home, whilst Ryan Doe/Will Nesbitt went to three sets in each of their rubbers and notched a brace for the losers.

Despite winning their penultimate fixture 5-4 against a two pair Waverley B, Pegasus can no longer finish outside the bottom two places. Phil Hood/Mark Gentry recorded a hat-trick in a losing cause for Waverley as they move level on points with Whitchurch, but below them on games won. Bottom side Aldermaston have three matches left to save themselves.

Phoenix B moved to third place in Open Division Three after a 9-0 win over Beechdown C and a 6-3 success over Alresford.

Leaders Hurst B stretched their lead to twelve points following an 8-1 win over Waverley C, albeit having played two games more than second placed Beechdown B.

Trebles from Keith Lawrence/Chris Puxley and Ben Leyburn/John Lang, together with Richard Silk/Martyn Chapman brace saw Hurst B to victory. A single from Emma James/Daniel Wright prevented Waverley C from suffering a whitewash and they remain second from bottom.

Andover Sports B joined opponents Viking B, who fielded two pairs, in Mixed Division Two mid-table after a 7-2 victory. Chris Powell/Deborah Vincent won both rubbers for Viking B.
