BASINGSTOKE Hockey men's fourth team warmed up for their top of the table clash against Poole next week with an excellent 4-0 win over Hamble.

The first team returned to winning ways again, taking a neat 4-2 win against Sunbury, with goals spread between Alex Hope, Will Jewkes, Grant Rouse and Todd Hutchinson.

The visitors scoring two goals in quick succession from a back post deflection and a penalty flick, on their way to leading 3-0 at the break.

Basingstoke were able to claw one back from a penalty flick from Alex Miller.

Swanage and Wareham hosted the thirds, starting well with a goal from Jez Smith with a nice flick in the aftermath of a short corner that Swanage failed to deal with.

Harrison Spicer then produced a smart finish created by a breakaway from Euan Rixson and Mikhail Saujani.

Swanage pulled one back, but Basingstoke increased their lead via a scrambled goal from Sam Payne.

Swanage piled on the pressure but only scored once. This was thanks to a superb performance in goal by man of the match Will Hooper as Basingstoke won the game 3-2.

The fifths beat Camberley 1-0 with the only goal of the game coming from Lucas Chambers.

Vikings played an organised Fleet and Ewshot, with the game giving chances to each team the game was balanced with Tomas Bonsor taking Basingstoke’s only goal in a 2-1 loss overall.

Basingstoke under-12 girls played really well but lost 2-0 to Andover, the final score not reflective of their hard work.

The under-16s boys drew 2-2 away at Yateley in a game that could have gone either way, with Tomas and Stephan Bonser taking the goals.
