BRADLEY Sutton will make his Pentathlon World Cup debut in Cairo tomorrow and cannot watch to rub shoulders with some of the best in the world.

Sutton said: “This is a great experience and I have competed in Cairo before, I have to admit the running in the sand is a killer, but to be up against so many athletes including winners from the Rio Olympics will make it a great experience. I am looking forward to it and seeing how well I do. I know it is going to be tough, but I am up for the challenge.”

The 19-year-old is one of four along with George Budden, Jamie Harper and Charlie Follett to make their debut at this level of competition on the senior circuit.

This is the first World Cup event of the season and the fifth year it has taken place in Cairo.

The quartet making their debuts will be joined by Kerenza Bryson, Jess Varley, Myles Pillage and Jo Muir.

Both Sutton and Follett competed on Egyptian soil at the 2016 Junior World Championships.

Sutton trains at the Pentathlon Great Britain’s National Training Centre at the University of Bath and is in men’s qualifying today hoping to make the final on Saturday In other news Sutton has learned he is also now a UK Sport Podium Potential Athlete.
