AFTER their recent nomination as an English Cricket Board Showcase Club for 2018, Oakley are holding a pre-event meeting with the ECB at Oakley Village Hall, Andover Road, Oakley, on Monday, February 19 from 7pm.
The meeting is open to members, volunteers and members of the local public, with Richard Lightbown of the ECB explaining the details of the event.
The Showcase Weekend is hosted by Oakley Cricket Club, the ECB and the Hampshire Cricket Board, with an England Test player (yet to be named) in attendance as well as Hampshire CC members.
As well as volunteers assisting with basic pre-season groundwork duties, there will be games, stalls, a licensed bar and free food for volunteers right across the weekend.
The showcase weekend is to be held on the weekend of March 24 and 25 with more details following soon after the initial planning meeting next week.
