LODDON Vale men continued their winning ways in two regional league competitions.

In the Wessex league Loddon Vale had a comprehensive 99–65 win over Chipping Norton, with rink scores at home Trevor Morgan 32-10, Gary Lovett 25-16 and away Steve Shaw 26-16, Dougie Morgan 16-23.

This cemented their position at the top of the Eastern Division with three matches to go.

In the Hampshire League, Loddon Vale took advantage of a home fixture with a narrow 75-69 win over Victory from Portsmouth.

Their were rink scores of Peter Read 16-18, Fred Norris 18-20, Geoff Green 19-18, Gary Lovett 22-13.

This promoted Loddon Vale to the top of the table but having played a game more than those just below them.

There has been mixed fortunes in the National competitions with Gary Lovett (singles, triples, family pair), Trevor Morgan(rinks) all bowing out. However, Duncan Rogers (singles, family pairs) and Trevor Morgan(Over 50’s triples) continue onwards.

In the London and Southern Fours competition Gary Lovett’s rink got one over on club mate Trevor Morgan’s rink to reach the quarter finals.

In club competitions the semi-finals of the drawn pairs saw Jock McCreadie and Alan Tait beat Mick Jones and Dave Holmes, 23-20.

There were Aussie Pairs wins for Olive Richardson and John Holmes, 24-9, Marjorie Craze and Alan Tait, 21-14. Alice Lovett had a fine win over Geoff Green 22-4 in the Open Singles.

In the Mixed Pairs their was a very close victory for Marjorie Craze and Fred Goddard who beat Pauline and Kevin Oxlade 23-22, while Margaret Coutts and Gerald Norris enjoyed a 16-14 success against Pat Wort and Geoff Green In last Saturday's friendly game, Loddon beat Chawton Park 16-113 with the top rink being Adrian Bush, Frank Fuller, Maurice Sleight and Margaret French.

Loddon Vale Open Days continue every Wednesday for anyone to come and give the game a try they are from noon until 2pm and 4.30pm until 6.30pm.
