TWENTY one fished the Kennet Osprey’s match at Greenridge Farm, where long pole exponent Ray Shepherd topped out with 69lb 13oz of carp on soft pellet.

Kevin Downer put pole and paste to good use and weighed in 68lb 3oz, Colin Thomas employed a similar method for his 52lb 6oz followed by Steve (I never moan) Shepherd with a maggot caught 50lb 4oz. All weighed.

Adventure AS travelled to Orchard Lakes near New Milton for their latest fixture and it was Robin Guppy who sorted it best netting 99lb 8oz of mixed on pole and pellet.

Dave Hathaway’s 90lb 10oz of carp fell to the method feeder. Mark Blackmon utilised pole and corn for 89lb of allsorts, whilst Dave Stratford Way caught 87lb 12oz. Sixteen fished and caught.

Trevor Matthews won the Basingstoke Railway Club Piscatorials match at Dandys Ford last Sunday with 99lb of carp on pole, maggot and worm.

I managed to catch 91lb 4oz of carp on two plus two and paste, Rob Carr (Superstar) caught 67lb 8oz on pole and maggot, followed by Lynne Matthews with 48lb. Fourteen fished and caught.

Camrose AC went to New Barlows last Sunday and Paul Bassinder had a run away win with 58lb 12oz of carp on pole and pellet.

Paul (The Enforcer) Follington’s 14lb 4oz of carp fell to pole and corn, Pat Finn weighed in 11lb 8oz of carp caught on pole and pellet. Eleven fished and caught (just).

This coming Sunday Adventure are on their own Willow Pool, Ospreys are at Marsh Farm, Camrose return to New Barlows whilst I will be at Stoneham Lake fishing with Salisbury AC against Eastleigh AC.

Not being content with dragging me off to sunnier climes on a regular basis ‘er indoors has now booked us on a cruise, I suppose I will grin and bear it.
