THE Wessex Wyverns Modern Pentathlon Club enjoyed great success at the Guildford Aquathlon after a week of holiday bootcamp/swim training with their coaches Michelle Matson and Georgina Smith.

All 13 members of the club swam in the outdoor lido pool followed by a run in Stoke Park, with various distances according to their age.

The club are proud of each and every one of them, and also a mention should go to the cheering and encouragement from the support crew/families who cheered every single person through the finish line.

Alexis Hornsby was the first girl home in the Tristar event for eight-year-olds which included a 50 metres swim and 600 metres run. Club mate Amelia Smith was fourth and Chloe Greenwood sixth, while Archie Parker picked up a bronze medal in the boy’s event.

Charlie Coveney was another winner in the Tristar One category for nine and 10-year-olds which included a 150m swim and1.5km run. Lily-Mae Lancaster Evans was 17th in the girl’s race.

In the Tristar Two for competitors aged 11 and 12 over a complete a course of a 200m swim and 2km run. Luke Onslow was 11th in the boy’s race and Libby Smith did likewise in the girl’s event.

Cameron Coveney was another gold medallists in Tristar Three event which was a 300m swim and 3km run. Josh Parker came 10th and Megan Smith was seventh for in the girl’s race.

In the adults category which started with a 500m swim before a 5km run Gemma Bigg was fifth in the women’s open and Cat Coveney fourth in the women’s vets.
